Default Waiting...and waiting...and waiting...

In addition to a lot of other issues, I'm wondering what is the cause of the incredible waits that one has to go through before they can participate in one of the Alliance Battles of the current version. It's insane. I remember that the FPE version was much MUCH quicker when it came to getting battles started. This is getting rediculous. I've attatched a screeny of the waiting. And not all of them showed up. Is it that there aren't enough players on the two sides? Is it some sort of stupid max number of battles at once restriction? I don't know, but this is another thing that I miss from the FPE.

OMG this is just stupid... a net you ruined 12v12 and im pissed.
In FPE it was so easy to get a group, now it takes me half an hour to find one because no one wants assasins. Also it was so much more fun last time because it was random, now we can't even communicate to our allies... omg
A-net please fix this, everyone is complaining about how its ruined, don't u get the message? Just change it back to how it was before in FPE...this should be the TOP priority with the fixing of factions.
In addition to all this, half of the people in 12v12 just try to get random groups anyways especially that it takes so long to get one and people just don't want to wait around all day like me who just want to do something pretty quick and fun. hey we have random arenas which works great, now can we have some way of getting 12v12 being able to go with 1 person?

I know what you mean Sientir, I waited for 15 minutes on the kurzick side(with my old guild) for a battle to start, i got tired of waiting and just went to do something else. At the very least, they should let random people join, maybe have a few battles dedicated to random teams(random arenas style anyone?). The wait times are quite simply out of hand. Good thing I decided to steer my new guild to the luxon side, no waits ftw!

There is also the case that during the FPE Jade Quarranty and Fort Aspenwood needed long time waiting to get the teams, now it is almost impossible to get the teams... I think that Arena Net is aware of this... think.

Obviously Anet really put some thought into the new style of battles for Factions!! BOLLOX. Anet actually re-used most of the prophecies content for a speedy release and just like GW-P they lied to us on the preview event releasing a very different experience than has been previewed.
Lets take a few elements from all the popular MMO's, hash them together with little creativity and absolutely nothing we havent seen in other games and sell it as FREE ONLINE GAMEPLAY!! Add a formula marketing strategy and VIOLA! you got a game that sells that doesnt have to honour its players in any way at all, even gets praised for updates which mainly address balance issues that Anet dont have the inteligence to consider during development. Release dates are so much more important than completing a game and balancing out gameplay issues BEFORE release.
I will once again draw your attention to this beeplog, which IMO explains qiute clearly why GW is what it is.

That stupid link on your post bring to a lot of false information and I think 90% ppl posting in this threads likeS GW and factions and post here just to make it better. I don't know another free online game like GW. More there is not even a pay online game like GW, maybe GW is not the best but has a unique gameplay. I keep thinking GW PvP is one of the best around.

About something I've read, having more character slots doesn't make you a better/stronger player, this game is not about farming/grinding to own it.

I've signed this post about 12v12 but not agree with this guy here.

I personaly dont mind doing it in small group, its actualy better to make group build, and put some tactic in to the 12vs12. Pluse during the trial its 12 ppl all in a very big map, and most of time we have to split up. I saw a lot of call target, but its so hard to track down which to follow....call target is useless backthen, and there isnt much conversation either.
But the current system suck as bad, I like the fact that we can do spike team effectively in 12vs12, but how do you know who to back up if you have no idea what or how they are doing??

I purpose we use the same type of party window as in Observer mode, give us the obility to open multi-party window on ourside. Give differnt color line for each group when they draw on the mini map. Maybe some basic short cut speach like CS in different color from other channel, for easy and fast over all knowledge about the battle.
nothing fancy, just some basica line
"Enemy group located!!"
"We need back up!!"
"Split up!!"
.....something like this.

I have been reading this, and it seems to me that the author has some resentment against Arena Net.

Nevertheless, the issue discussed in this thread that is the 12v12 PvP Alliance battles in the Factions Preview Event as compared with the released Factions shows that Arena Net has been not aware that they were giving a false impression, and that most players were expecting to find 12v12 PvP Alliance battles as they were presented in the Factions Preview Event. If this battles had been better in the release than in the FPE no-problem, but, many as me, feel decieved in this 12v12 most wanted battle ground of the game, because the obviousness of the mistake of hampering both the teams building and communication as compared with the FPE.

This game is great as a Competitive Rol Playing Game, also in some sense this game is a Massive Multiplayer Online Game, as related to the number of players online and the possibility to meet, to play and to communicate with anyone in different languages is great. It has not monthly fees, and Arena Net seeks some other ways to earn money (like selling music, selling characters slots, selling each chapter as a whole game, etcetera) and as long as they are able to keep it enough fair for players in the game play there will be no-problem. I will keep playing GW as the best internet game for being able to make a single world community from East to West or West to East (not yet enough extended from South to North or North to South). Nevertheless, I will follow making what I think are constructive critics asking for more in-game information and more in-game self communication means!

Will Anet ever respond to this? I haven'e seen Gaile Gray in game for about 2 weeks now. And frankly, it's just making me even more mad. I understand that they had E3 to deal with and all, but I highly doubt the whole company was there.

Anyone heard ANYTHING?

Im sure shes read it. Im sure they know about. But im also sure they wont tell us anything until they make up their mind about what to do.

I've never really been in a guild. I've always played this game solo for the most part. I always loved playing RA matches cuz of the randomness. And when FPE weekend game, I loved the 12v12 madness even more.

I was hesitant on paying $50 CDN for Factions, seeing as how I payed $40 for Prophecies. but after FPE weekend, I was sold.

Finally! I reach a Luxon Ambassador last week and I swear my allegiance to my basically one man guild and off I went excited to enter some Alliance Battles.

"Enter Battle": your party is too small to enter battle.

!?WTF?!

Seeing as how I'm a monk, I easily found a group to join obviously. I can only see 4 members? WTF?

One thing I absolutely hated about Team Arenas is that you could never get into groups easily unless you ran some cookie cutter build (or played monk). Now with this forcing us to make squads, Alliance Battles are now plagued with this same problem.

Some people just don't want to GvG or play in some super organized sophisicated matches. let randomness be randomness.

I absolutely hate spending time to form groups and I am so uninspired to do Alliance Battles.

The only improvement that I can see was the addition of ending the match when one side held all the checkpoints for 60 seconds.

totally agree with u they need to think of those ppls... im not only soloing but as long as it related to aliiance battles i WANT THE RANDOMNESS... it just owned in FPE and blown to pieces in the retail... please anet dont tell us we got the Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood maps for random... THOSE MAPS ARE EMPTY and fort aspenwood is terribly easier for luxons (won with the kurzicks 1-2 times out of 5 times played... no ppls anyway) we want the back the same settings as in FPE ! i.e. random groups+12 ppls in the whole party that u can take care of with aegis etc...

what you're basicly doing is punishing your monks, how the hell are you supposed to heal with 12 people, now because of this people have to make good party's of 4 to survive, in FPE you just joined random and hoped that something would happen

ok first time ever I played 12v12 and must say wow that kicked ass though the waiting time was slow meh im a patient lad I don't care I allways laugh when no one takes us on, see it as an ego boost = )

Course then I get my ass whoped next game....

I don't see any proberlems apart from team chat should apply for all your team mates...and maybe a window to see all your team mates would be grand...then again its there job to get a monk in there team anyway.


/signed to make it more flexible eg speak to the whole team and be able to heal the whole team etc

/notsigned to change the whole thing if you did people would leave just like they do in RA -_-

Rogier my husband plays monk and he never had any issues healing all 12. He finds himself completely useless now in the current setup. No monk can heal everyone all the time, especially not on a map of that scale. However a good monk can keep the majority healed. We are signing for the old way and your post is very contradicting o_O Monks are pointless now a group of 4 should be self heal, no need for monks.... So it is punishing the monks now because they aren't needed... This is why we don't like it and are signing for the old way, like it was in the FPE.... Not sure what page you are on or if there was just a typo in your post but its a bit off/confusing/contradicting



Tien ak, hun people still leave anyways, they just do it in groups of 4 now - I have seen it happen repeatedly.

Both you guys should look at some of the previous posts. Anything you can agree or object or even ponder has already been addressed.


Instead of posting twice in a row, I just point out the following poster who ALSO didn't read the whole thread... or even half of it.... Heck I think he even failed to read the last post in the thread -_- *sighs*
